Iris Stitch

Stitch Descriptions and Abbreviations

Chain Stitch – ch – yarn over, pull yarn through stitch on hook.

Double Crochet – dc – Yarn over, insert hook into stitch or space, pull up a loop, (3 loops on hook), yarn over, pull through 2 loops, yarn over, pull through remaining loops.

Materials

4.50m Crochet Hook

Yarn Needle

Scissors

#4 Worsted Wt. Yarn

Big Twist – Gray Denim

Gauge

14 sts x 8 rows is 4”x4” in dc

Swatch

Pattern is worked with a starting chain in multiples of 4 + 2 +1

Stitch

Row 1

Ch 35, [2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in 5th chain from hook, *skip 3 sts, [2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in next ch. Repeat from * across to last 2 sts, skip 1 ch, dc in last ch.

Row 2

Ch 3, turn, *[2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in next ch-1 space. Repeat from * to end, placing 1 dc in turning ch-3.

Row 3 and on

Repeat Row 2 to desired length.
