Sunrise Shell Beanie

Maker
9/1/2019

Aloha! My name is Tonja and I’m the designer behind Pink Plumeria Maui. I am so very honored and excited to be on The Hook Nook blog today with my brand new pattern the Sunrise Shell Beanie pattern!

I have been crocheting for five years and I love to create fun and functional patterns. I learned to crochet while my mom was visiting after my third son was born. I just wanted to make wash clothes. My mom was super patient and helped me out with the basics and from there I am self taught with crochet books and the Internet. I was crocheting like crazy within a short time and my mom a 50 year crocheter and knitter was blown away. I started publishing patterns a year ago in August 2018.

When I’m not crocheting I’m a full time mom to four boys, yes I know I have my hands full. I live in Maui so a good portion of my time is spent at the beach and adventuring outside. I find a lot of my inspiration from my surroundings. Sunrise shells are very special and made into beautiful jewelry. The Sunrise Shell Beanie is something I have been dreaming about for a while and want you to have a fun and stylish pattern to remind you of summer and keep you warm in the cool months. I hope you love this free pattern as much as I do!

Leave a long tail to sew up opening on top and fasten off yarn. With a tapestry needle, sew in and out of under sc’s and pull hole closed. Turn beanie inside out and put yarn through top center. Sew your end in securely. If you’re adding a fur pom you can use the long tail to sew on a button if you use removable fur poms.

I can’t wait to see what yarn you use to make your beanie. You can share your progress and finished project with me online by tagging @pinkpumeriamaui and use #pinkplumeriamaui on Instagram.
