Diamonds In The Rough Ruana Knitting Pattern

Maker

Hello everyone, Ashley here, I am the owner of a knitwear accessory and design company called Toasty Tribe, you may have seen me around on Instagram as @toastytribehandmades.

I am so happy to share this pattern with all of you! And honestly so honored to share a design on this platform, thank you to Jessica and all the people at The Hook Nook for helping me bring you this wonderful project.

I have been knitting for three years now and have been designing and writing patterns for almost a year. (WOOHOO!) I started designing patterns when I would see knit hats and accessories in the store and think to myself, oh I could make that!! Designing is my greatest passion, I always strive to create pieces that are modern yet timeless, to create something that if it were in a store you would buy it right off the rack. Knitting is so empowering! It's an activity that helps people to create beautiful things with their own two hands. My goal as a maker is always  to further empower creatives to hone their skills with designs that they will truly love and cherish for a lifetime.

The Diamond in the Rough Ruana was originally designed to be a beachy cover up, but it quickly adapted into a garment fit for any season!! Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter, no matter the weather, this is the perfect layering piece. This is an Intermediate pattern that any beginner could manage. And if you’re a little bit on the shorter side, or prefer not to wear such over-sized items, there are simple adaptations in the pattern for a shorter length garment. This pattern in created in a way that is ultra-intuitive, the diamond shape design makes it super easy to follow along. You won’t be chained to the directions for this design. I hope you enjoy is as much as I do!

Let’s get started.
